Finally, the basketball season comes to an end! We had various games, including the intense KISAA tournament game with Saint Paul, Faston, and BIS. Our team, Cornerstone, was able to obtain great experience and grasp the hang of the season. We had developed our teamwork and our relationship had become closer. The interview from some of the players and crew of the basketball varsity team reflects what their thoughts for this season are and what they felt during the KISAA tournament.

How was the game at this tournament and how did you feel about this season?

Doyeon Kim (girls’ basketball team captain): During this KISAA game, I could see the growth of all the players on the team, and I was proud of them as a team for not giving up until the end. Sometimes, it felt a lot of practice and physically difficult at times, but it was nice to be able to finish without anyone getting hurt. And I was proud to see a noticeable change in play compared to the first game. So, I hope we can play again next season with more growth. Shout out to our varsity girls basketball!

Yunu Lee (boys’ basketball team captain): This season is definitely gonna be remembered as one of cornerstone’s golden eras in basketball. Every player, coaches, and the managers gave their best. But it’s just a bit of a shame that we couldn’t get a championship trophy, and I feel sorry for our Dohun and Hosung. Still, I’m super proud of our team, and after this experience, I’m determined to bring home that trophy next season!

Hosung Lee (boys’ basketball team ): Overall a decent season. We had some good runs and got huge wins as well. Yet I must note that the final tournament did not go as we thought it would be. Lost to fayston and that hurts a lot.. But I’m proud of our team and look forward to the next season!

Yena Kwak (girls’ basketball team): Trying hard for every round of the tournament made me feel proud that our team has improved over time. I think this season was a very valuable season for me since this was my first basketball varsity in highschool. I learned the importance of teamwork.

Thank you to all the players and manager for interviewing. Our team worked so hard this season and I am so proud as Manager of Basketball varsity. We are looking forward to the next season with a better team.
