He ran South towards the harbor while avoiding enemy soldiers as he did so. He knew he had to get out of here as fast as possible, because he knew the city was about to blow from what was located inside of it. And if it did, well, he would be dead. Most people in the city probably already knew about this, because he could see a bunch of people trying to escape the city. Or maybe they were just running away because the location was in a chaotic state.

Eventually, Hoban made it to the boat, located at a small harbor. The boat was small, with the cabin being shaped like an ellipsis. It was also luckily undamaged, and Hoban quickly got inside and checked the place. There was a bed in the middle of the cabin, with a tall drawer full of supplies placed behind it. In the front, there was a steering wheel and the controls of the boat.

And so Hoban turned on the motor and sailed away quickly. In the distance, he could still see the smoke rising up into the sky from the burning city. He steered away from the place, aiming to face the bow of the boat away from the city.

Then, nine miles and twenty minutes later, there was a huge explosion, and Hoban could see a huge mushroom cloud rising to the sky in the distance. He then knew what had just exploded, and was glad that he had made it out in time.

However, he was still in danger. The shockwave from the explosion was coming, and it hit him only a few seconds later, knocking him down onto the wooden floor of the boat. Luckily, he survived with just a scratch or two. He stood back up again and looked toward the explosion. The mushroom cloud was still rising up towards the sky.

Hoban then looked at the city. Except that, there was nothing else to see. Rubble and fire was what remained. The city of Juneau had disintegrated.

After seeing this, Hoban looked back down to the boat. Then, he looked towards the city again and saw massive tsunami waves approaching. The waves had been created from the blast, and they were huge. Hoban panicked and ran inside the cabin of the boat and drove away from the waves and towards the middle of the channel.

The boat dashed through the water as the waves approached closer and closer. Hoban knew he couldn’t outrun it. But then he saw a small island to his left that had a cliff on one side. and he knew that if he sailed behind it, the island would act as a barrier and shield him from the waves, which would stop the boat from sinking. Hoban steered towards it, and looked at the speed meter. The boat was going at a maximum speed of fifty knots.

After one minute, Hoban was only 10 feet away from the island, and the waves were getting very close to him. He went next to the island and then went behind it by drifting the boat like it was a racecar. After that happened the waves crashed onto the island, creating a huge watery explosion that exploded over the cliff side of the island.

A shower of excess water that came through over from the other side of the island rained onto Hoban and the boat. After that happened, Hoban checked his surroundings to see that his boat was still floating, albeit filled with water. He calmed down for a little while and then started to take the water out. While doing this, he found a salmon that had somehow made it onto the boat (probably from the wave) and picked it up. He then decapitated it. “This will be dinner tonight” he said to himself. He then placed the fish in a plastic bag and looked at the island that had saved him.

It was about a mile long and had a lot of pine trees. There were also a lot of birds near the shores of the island. In fact, some of the birds were approaching Hoban’s boat, eager to eat his salmon.

Hoban realized this and quickly went inside the cabin and shut the door.

He then sat on the bed and began to think about everything that had happened. Then he started to cry, as he had just lost his father and his coworkers.

Hoban knew that he had to avenge their deaths, but didn’t know how. He knew he couldn’t go against an entire army, but he also couldn’t allow them to kill his father like that.

Then he realized that what he could do was to continue the project that his father had created. If he did that, he could somehow find a way to destroy this government.

And so Hoban made the decision. He was going to get revenge. Hoban turned on the motor of the boat and headed out of the Gastineu channel. He did not look back at the burning city. Instead, he looked towards the Southeast, where one of the mouths of the channel was at. That would be his exit. He took out a map of Alaska and started navigating to the city that would save him, hoping that the enemy forces didn’t arrive by the time he got there.

Thus concludes this prologue.
