The City That Never Sleeps. That’s what New York City really is. This place can be found in the New York state in the Eastern United States. It has five boroughs, which are Manhattan, Staten Island, Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Queens. This article will be showing cool or interesting places in New York City that I visited.

The Empire State Building

This iconic building was completed in 1931. And you can go to the 86th or the 102th floor and look at the amazing view of Manhattan and further on. However, on the 86th floor, the view is obstructed a little because of the fence and the wiring. Going to the 102nd floor would be better because there is no fence, but rather glass windows with no obstructions.

The USS Intrepid Museum

If you didn’t know, New York City has an aircraft carrier museum in Manhattan.

This museum has many things that you could see. First, you can see the USS Intrepid itself. This carrier was a part of multiple historic events such as World War II or the Cold War.

The USS Intrepid looks wonderful overall itself. On the flight deck of the USS Intrepid, there are many aircraft displays that you can see. There are planes such as the F-16 and the Lockheed A-12. Some other things that you can see nearby the carrier are a concorde aircraft, the USS Growler (a submarine that I recommend you go to since you get to have a good tour of the submarine), and the space shuttle called the Enterprise, which is inside the carrier.

This place is recommended for those who are interested in the US Navy, space, or the history of wars that the ship was in.

MoMa Museum

The Museum of Modern Art is located on 11 West 53 Street, and the place has a lot of artworks that you can see. One thing that is interesting in this museum is the painting of Starry Night by Vincent Van Gough.

Statue of Liberty

This statue is one of the iconic symbols of New York City. The Statue of Liberty was donated from the French as a gift. You can directly go to the island through a ferry, or you can also see the statue from afar by riding a free ferry towards Staten Island.

Top of the Rock – Rockefeller Center

The Top of the Rock is an observation deck located at the top of the Rockefeller Center building. Here, you get to see a 360 degree view of New York City. It is somewhat similar to the views near the top of the Empire State building, but with one obvious difference:

You can see the Empire State Building from here, which, in my opinion, makes the scene here better than seeing the view of New York City on the Empire State.

Seeing the view during sunset or nighttime is also incredible as well because you can see the lights of the buildings which creates a whole new kind of scene.

One World Trade Center

A major building of New York City, also known for being the number one tallest building in America.

Chrysler Building:

This building is 1046 feet tall and has triangle shaped patterns near the top of the building

Flat-Iron Building

This building is unique due to it having a triangular shape. It is 285 feet tall and is located near Madison Square Park.

Saint Patrick’s Cathedral:

This cathedral is located on the 5th avenue between the 50th and 51st street. It doesn’t feel like the building belongs in New York City because of its appearance, which looks old. But it looks beautiful with some of the reasons being that it has sharp architectural details and beautiful (and sharp) spires.

Conclusion: New York City has many interesting places all in one place, from iconic monuments to skyscrapers. The buildings honestly made this place awesome and the city scenery is amazing.

If you visit this city, make sure to visit one or more of these locations!
