In the 2025 Spring semester, our first homecoming week was held in Cornerstone. The idea being first brought up by our new Student Body Council president Sejin, our new homecoming week was filled with excitement. A whole entire week was dedicated to homecoming, with events that allowed students to wear navy, burgundy, and gold dresscoded clothes in school. And on Friday, the final day of the homecoming week, our first homecoming party was held in Newv hotel.

Students gathered at the hotel wearing formal suits and dresses and enjoyed the atmosphere of the party, eating and dancing. To celebrate this achievement of school spirit and gathering, I interviewed our Student Body Council president, Sejin Park, to ask about the motive and arrangement process of homecoming.

Q: What motivation brought you to start homecoming?

Sejin Park: I was motivated to bring together all grades and create a stronger sense of unity, like one big family. I also wanted both new and returning students to feel welcomed and celebrated from the moment they arrived. Most of all, I wanted to provide a memorable and enjoyable event where everyone could gather outside of school and simply have fun.

Q: You must’ve worked hard to plan this, were there any difficulties while you were planning for homecoming?

Park: OF COURSE… There were challenges along the way such as finding the right DJ, seeking for a venue that was both affordable and fancy, and receiving the necessary approval from the faculty. While this was difficult for us, looking back, those challenges made the event even more rewarding.

Q: Do you have anything to say to the students who participated in homecoming?

Park: I’m truly grateful to everyone who came and made the night so special. Seeing students enjoy themselves and connect with each other was the greatest reward for all our efforts. But remember, this is ONLY THE BEGINNING. Stay tuned. 🙂

Thank you Sejin for your cooperative and wonderful answer. As he said, our homecoming week really brought all the students together, from teachers to returning students and also new students. Homecoming was certainly a memorable event, and I hope in the future, we’ll have more fun events.
