Chapter 1: The Vanishing of the Great Grape
Once upon a time, in the land of Grapia, the grape population was thriving. Different kinds of grapes of varying colors walked amongst the streets as they chilled about, sometimes walking their pet grape dogs.
In the very center of Grapia, there stood a huge grape the size of a three-story building. It was gold in color, and produced baby grapelings that would increase the population of Grapia. This grape was known as the Great Grape (or GG), and it powered the entire city of Grapia. The Great Grape’s powers were very great and mighty, and many grapelings harvested its energy. Pipelines and other electrical lines snaked from the Great Grape towards all places in the city. Indeed, the Great Grape was very powerful.
The origins of the Great Grape dates back to that of ancient primordial times, when the land of Grapia was first created. Legends say that the Great Grape itself was the reason why Grapia existed.
However, on March 12th, during the Great Grape festival, the Great Grape suddenly vanished from its podium. The entire city lost its power, and the people of Grapia were shocked and frightened. Without the Great Grape, the city of Grapia would fall.
Immediately, the grape investigators searched the scene. Who could have stolen this mighty grape? Experts speculated that the enemy nation, the Raisins, have stolen it. And indeed they were right, because in the global news, the Raisins were carrying the Great Grape onto their podium, next to the Great Raisin.
Angered and impoverished, the citizens of Grapia waged war against the Raisins. This would spark the beginning of the Great Graisin War.
But before we get to know more about this war, we need to assess the military strength of the Grapians and the Raisins. The Grapes were well-suited for close combat, while the Raisins were known for their long range archery skills. This would result in the Raisins having advantage, as they could target the Grapians from far away.
However, the Grapians had one trick up their sleeve: intelligence. They were five times smarter than the Raisins, whose shriveled up bodies meant that their brains weren’t as big as the Grapians’. In addition, the Grapians had gradar that could detect enemy forces from far away.
As for military size, the Raisins had 121,000 troops, whilst the Grapians had 57,000. The Raisins vastly outnumbered the Grapians, so the Grapians must be careful on how they use their grapepower.

Chapter 2: The Ambush at Raisin Valley
The first conflict of the Graisin war started on March 21st, when 2,000 Grapian troops sneakingly entered Raisin territory via the Raisin valley. They were to go into enemy land in hopes of ambushing them.
Armed with swords and clubs, the Grapians trekked through the valley, checking on their gradar now and then to detect any Raisins from a 30-mile distance.
Suddenly, a Grapian soldier looked at the gradar and exclaimed in shock. There were dots on every side of the circular screen. “Commander!” He shouted. “We are surrounded by the enemy!”
The commander, Sir Muscat II, looked in horror as he spotted thousands of Raisins surrounding them at the top of the valley. Their bows were ready, aimed towards the Grapians.
“Shields up!” Sir Muscat said. The Grapes held up their shields as a volley of sharp arrows hurled towards them. Most banged harmlessly off the shields, but a few lucky shots hit some Grapians, who spilled wine and collapsed.
Sir Muscat II realized that they were at a huge disadvantage. He did not expect the enemy to come here. They had underestimated the Raisins.
He ordered full retreat back into the Grapian lands, and so the Grapians inched their way back to their territory, holding up their shields as they did so. Half of the Raisins tried to attack, while the other half shot arrows. But by the time that happened the Grapians had slipped into their territory. With more Grapian reinforcements arriving, the Raisins, although not as intelligent as the Grapians, still knew best not to enter the Grapian territory. And so the short conflict was over.
The casualties of this conflict were five grapians, while the raisins had no casualties.
The Great Graisin War will continue in the next issue…
