Welcome to Choose Your Own Adventure! Before we start,
let’s go over how this activity works so that you can have fun playing it.
First, read the intro story. This will introduce you to the setting of the game and also the first set of choices that you need to make. Flip through the book and visit the designated page depending on what you chose, and enjoy yourself as you go through the adventure! Your choices may lead to one of these four possible outcomes: death (which means that you lose the game), encountering another set of choices, the story ending without you dying (but it’s not a good ending), or getting the good ending, in which you win the game.
(Note that there is more than one good ending).
The goal is to pick the right options and achieve the happy ending.
So, sit back, relax, and let us start!
Intro Story:
It’s 9 a.m. in Miami, Florida. You are about to board the Great Grape, a large cruise ship the size of a tanker that engulfs your view (it also looks like a huge grape). As you walk towards the dock, about to board the ship, you come across a store that sells burgers and pizza. You decide to eat since you are famished. Which option do you pick?
If you choose pizza, go to block 14
If you choose a burger, go to block 7
Block 4
If you came back from from block 7 or block 14…
You continue walking toward the ship and enter through a gangway. Then, you are led to your suite, which is a beautiful room that is ocean-themed. As you settle into your room, the speaker announcements declare that the ship has left its port. You take a look at the ship brochure to see if there are any fun things to do on the ship. Out of the list of interesting things, you would like to go to the waterpark and the cinema. However, you need to choose only one. Which place will you go to?
☞ If you choose the cinema, go to block 17
☞ If you choose the waterpark, go to block 15
Block 14
You choose a pizza with pepperoni. It tastes horrible. You get no benefits. But you didn’t die from food poisoning either. Yay or nay? Go to block 4.
Block 17
You go to the cinema and watch a horror movie. It scares the wits out of you and you storm out of the theater, terrified. You decide to head back to your suite. On your way there, you meet a man with black sunglasses and a suit. He asks if you can spare him some change. Will you give him some money or not?
☞ If you choose to give him money, go to block 21
☞ If you choose not to give him money, go to block 11
Block 7
You choose a burger. It tastes really good and you savor every bite of it. Because of how delicious it was, you get one free life saver! If you die you can revive yourself and go back to the previous choice. Go to block 4.
Block 16
You eat some shrimp and it tastes horrible. You leave the buffet and decide to never come to that place again. You then decide to explore the ship further and head to the lower decks. Once there, you see a door that says “Staff Only, Engine Room” and get curious. You enter it and start looking around. The engines are huge, and you look at them in awe. Suddenly, you hear a staff member coming in the distance. You either need to hide in the storage unit or quickly get out and go back to your room. Which place do you choose?
If you choose the storage unit, go to block 5
If you choose to go back to your room, go to block 19
Block 21
You give him a crisp five dollar bill and he thanks you. You then walk back to the suite. After taking a good shower and eating a bag of chips, you relax yourself and watch some TV.
Days later, the cruise ship arrives at a stop in Nassau, The Bahamas. You need to decide whether to stay on the ship or go out to explore. What choice would you make?
If you decide to stay on the ship, go to block 19.
If you decide to go out and explore, go to block 8.
Block 11
You refuse to give him money, and the man is now angry. He pushes you off the rim of the ship and you fall into the water. Luckily, you survived the fall, but the cruise ship is sailing away in the distance. You panic and try to flail your arms and scream so that the people on the ship can notice you. However, nobody sees you and the ship goes on and disappears into the sunset. You are now stranded in the middle of the ocean. Fortunately, you spot an island and decide to swim toward it.
You arrive at the island and stay there until you are found and rescued by the coast guard.
The End. (You got the sad ending!)
Block 19
You feel too lazy to go outside and decide to just stay. What a boring person you are! After staying in the ship for a while the cruise ship eventually leaves Nassau and you never get another chance to visit the Bahamas. At least the deck chairs are comfy though, right?

Block 8
You go out and explore the city of Nassau. As you walk through the streets, you see a straw market that you want to go to. But you also see a beach in the distance that you would also like to visit. You only have enough time to go to one of them. Which place do you go to?
If you choose the beach, go to block 9
If you choose the straw market, go to block 3
Block 24
You hide behind the engines. As you do so, you unconsciously touch the side of it. You scream in pain as you realize that the engines are really hot, and the staff member notices you. He tells you to leave, and later, when the cruise ship arrives at a city harbor, he kicks you out of the cruise ship.
The End. (You got the sad ending!) (But hey at least you didn’t die.)
Block 9
You head to the beach and start swimming in the water. But as you do so, a shark suddenly approaches and attacks you. You sadly die.
The End! (You have died! Try the story again.)
Block 3
You head to the straw market and have a good look around. You see a nice straw hat that you like and decide to buy it. You also buy a nice-looking doll for your daughter. After visiting the market, you return to the ship, satisfied. The cruise ship then goes to the next location, and you continue your exciting journey.
The End! (You got the happy ending!)
Block 15
You head to the waterpark and ride down many slides. It’s getting pretty fun! You enjoy the pools as well. After leaving the waterpark, you go to the buffet to eat dinner. As you go through the trays of food, you choose to eat some shrimp and some crab legs. You sit down at a table and decide which food to eat first. The shrimp? Or the crab legs?
If you choose shrimp, go to block 16
If you choose crab legs, go to block 2 (staff page)
Block 6
You head to the go-kart place and have a fun time speeding around the track with your go-kart. After riding the go-karts, you head back to your suite and have a good rest by playing some video games. (You built a nice house in Minecraft.)
The End. (You got the good ending!)
Block 5
You hide behind the storage unit and the staff worker doesn’t see you and just walks straight past. You feel relieved and decide not to stay here any longer. You leave and head back up to your suite, feeling a little ashamed. Your journey continues on the cruise ship. Eventually after one week the ship arrives back home to Miami and you leave the cruise ship, happy for the memories that you created during your journey.

Block 2
You take a bite of the crab legs and they taste so good. You savor every bite and get some more. You eat so many that you’re too full to try the shrimp.
After the delicious meal, you decide what to do next. There are two options: go to the race track and do some go-karting, or go to the trampoline park and jump around. Which option do you choose?
If you choose trampoline park, go to block 10
If you choose go-karting, go to block 6
Block 10
You arrive at the trampoline park and have fun bouncing on the trampolines. You then decide to do a backflip, and you accidentally land on your neck and break it. You are rushed to the medical bay, but sadly, you don’t make it.
