When people think of a place of disappearance, most people tend to imagine a narrow alleyway, a quiet park at night, or a creepy highway. But have you ever heard of going missing inside of a cruise ship? This missing case that took place in the most bizarre location is the story of Amy Lynn Bradley.

It was March 24, 1998. Amy was enjoying her vacation with her family at the Royal Caribbean Cruise. In the early hours of that day, she was spotted spending time at the disco hosted by the cruise with her brother. Her brother, Brad, went back to their family cabin at around 3:30 am, leaving Amy alone. According to the record, Amy’s key card was swiped at 3:40, showing signs that she also came back. After this record, there were no signs of her exiting the cabin. At 5:30 am, Amy’s father, Ron woke up and saw Amy sleeping on the balcony chair. Not suspecting anything, Ron went back to sleep, unaware it would be the last time he saw her.

30 minutes later, Amy’s family found the cabin’s balcony door ajar and the shirt she was wearing draped over the lounge chair inside the cabin with her cigarette missing. Amy had disappeared. Her family searched for her all over the ship, begging staff members to make an announcement. But despite their effort, she was nowhere to be found.

There are several theories about her case, but the most plausible speculation is that she was a victim of human trafficking. The first clue was the reported sighting of her on the morning she disappeared. Two women on the cruise reported that they saw Amy and Alister Douglas (a ship employee) dancing in the disco around 6 am—after her father noticed she was gone. The two women allegedly saw Douglas alone a few minutes later. After this spotting, many other eyewitness accounts came from a place called Curacao. Curacao is an island that was one of the destinations of the cruise, and according to many reports, Amy was spotted on that island after her disappearance. But even with all those reports, she was nowhere to be found.

Then in 2005, a picture began to circulate in the internet of a woman that closely resembled Amy from a sexual service site. Authorities announced that they would take note and identify the woman, but unfortunately, they weren’t able to find her. This bizarre case has brought many spotlight from the public due to its strange nature. And even though there were many reports of sightings of her, her case is still cold. In 2025, a documentary of her case was released on Netflix talking about possible theories and allegations. This brought back the attention of the public that was once faded, enabling new leads to the mystery case…
