On Christmas day in December, Cornerstone Collegiate Academy of Seoul students joined the 2024 Tanzania Vision Trip.” gathered together to fly to Tanzania with the will to learn something new about Tanzania, such as new experiences that are rare in Korea, and the culture of Tanzania.  The 2024 Tanzania Vision Trip visited  Zanzibar, which is an island that is popular as a place to visit during vacation. After I came back to Korea,  I held an interview  with two people who went to Tanzania whose names are Jisung Jang and Kai Kong. This interview reflects their opinions about what they think about the Tanzania Vision Trip. I would be glad to share about their experiences from the Tanzania Vision Trip.

Q: What are your thoughts after visiting Tanzania?

Jisung Jang: After I visited Tanzania Vision Trip, I started to believe that what I have is the most prosperous and inhabitable environment. I was shocked when I saw Tanzania’s poor condition. However, things started to feel less shocking after the day flew by in Tanzania. When I arrived in Korea, I started to feel grateful for everything.

Kai Kong: Going on the Tanzania Vision Trip was truly an unforgettable experience for me that will last for a very long time. Through this vision trip, I got to learn a lot about the culture of Tanzania and the way of living of the natives there. I realized how different of a country South Korea and Tanzania were in terms of culture, food, and the living environment. I am so thankful that such an opportunity was granted to me and aspire to employ the many lessons I learned here to my daily life.

Q: What is one of the good things about this vision trip?

Jisung Jang: The good thing about the Tanzania Vision Trip is that this experience allows us to experience other nation’s cultures and to see things that are not available in Korea. Not only the culture but also the situation that I got a new friend whom I didn’t know made me comfortable.

Kai Kong: One valuable thing for me throughout this vision trip was the community that we had. We had approximately 20 people including students and teachers, and I think we all got pretty close to each other throughout the trip. I think that we all shared great moments together but also the tough ones as well, and we were all there to support one another, cheering each other up.I honestly am very thankful to every single member of our crew for caring for one another, even in the difficult times.

Before the vision trip, interviews didn’t realize what they have is actually hard to obtain. After the vision trip, interviewers learned a lot of ideas such as gratefulness, better thinking, and cultural relationships. If you visit Tanzania Vision Trip, it would be better for you to learn new things that are rare in the country.
