Previously on The Great Grasin War…
After launching their navy and heading out in hopes of destroying the Raisins, the Grapelings would be surprised by the sudden near-encounter of the Asparagetians off their coast. Luckily, they weren’t spotted, and the Grapelings would continue on their pursuit of destroying the Raisins.
Chapter 5: The Attack on Raisius
As the warships of the Grapian fleet reached the port city of Rasius, the Grapians prepared for the incoming battle. Weapons were checked, guns were loaded, and family pictures were looked at. Everything was set, and all they had to do was wait as their ships led them to the port city, griles away.
Sir Muscat looked at the preparations onboard the GSS Vine, and was satisfied. He was going to crush those Raisins, and it would be a victorious battle.
The port city of Rasius loomed in the distance. It was a fine city with a beautiful steel port and large docks. The buildings were extremely tall, sleek, and shiny, perfect to knock down with the Grapian guns.
As the big warships reached striking distance, Sir Muscat decided that this was the moment to attack. He finally turned off the gradio silence, and shouted on the intercom: “Graplings, it is finally time for the battle. Prepare your pits, your lives, and for Grapia. GUNS ATTACK!”
At this order, the big warships boomed with the sound of their guns firing. The grape ammunition hurled through the sky in a straight arc. Splat! One of the “shells” had found its mark, hitting a Raisin ship that was in one of the docks. The grape shell exploded on impact, staining the ship with melting-hot wine that melted the ship in half.
As the guns continued to fire, the transport ships started to head to the port city. By this point, the Raisins had realized what was going on, and their defense artillery hopelessly fought back against the onslaught of savage Grapians, who had now arrived at the port, yelling “For GRAPIA!!!”
The surprised and outnumbered Raisins fled the scene, while the brave raisins fought courageously against the far superior number of Grapians.
“Give us our Great Grape back!” One of the Grapian soldiers said as he clashed against a raisin artillery soldier. Their bayonets met and they tried to stab one another.
“Never!” replied the Raisin soldier, only to be impaled in the face by another bayonet, coming from another Grapian soldier.
“We must secure the port at all costs,” said the Grapian general as he approached the scene. “Take any surrendered raisin as a prisoner!” he spat. “We must show these brats what it feels like to lose their home power source.”
And so the battle raged on as ships bombarded the city with their melting wine shells, while on land the Grapian army overwhelmed the raisins. Eventually, by dawn, the city was captured, and the Grapian flag was hung up on the tallest tower, signalling that the
Grapians had finally, finally, gotten the W.
Chapter 6: The Asparagetians take notice
While the Grapians were attacking the Raisins, the Asparagetian sea patrol saw the ruckus from their side of the Asparagus inlet, and were shocked. How did the Grapians reach this side of the coast? They thought. They realized that the Grapians had crossed the inlet, and quickly reported this to the Asparagetian government. When the government heard of this, they were infuriated. No one accesses the Asparagetian inlet without their permission. They quickly sent messengers to the Grapian government, demanding an explanation.
“We were only taking a peaceful journey through the inlet,” replied the Grapian government. We had no intention of attacking any Asparagetian ports, nor did we have the intention to wage war with the Asparagetians.”
In spite of it, the Asparagetians were still furious with this, and almost waged war if it hadn’t been for Sir Muscat, who delivered some of the spoils of the battle to the Asparagetians in hopes of easing the tensions of the conflict. The Asparagetians received this gift, which was a bunch of sunlight packages and firearms. Thus, the Asparagetians decided not to wage war but instead give the Grapians a warning to never ever enter their inlet again or else they will face war. The Grapians begrudgingly obliged.
