As another semester approaches the end, as usual, final exams are coming up. Every semester, final exams are one of the most concerning events at school. Final exams test students on every single material that they learned throughout the semester, which makes the colossal concerns understandable. Particularly the sophomores, who take their first final exams on Advanced Placement courses, are raising their concerns as the final exams are coming up. On December 16th to 18th, which is when the Fall semester finals are scheduled, every CCAS high school student including the 9th graders and new AP course students are going to take the most important exam of the semester.
Final exams were always a huge event for students, particularly last year, 2023 semesters.
Referring to a CCAS student named Franklin Lee, who took his first high school final exams in 2023 as a 9th grader, the final exams were stressful enough to cause physical stress, such as a headache. Additionally, he phrased that taking five important exams within two days was harsh even though the number of exams did not go through changes from that of 8th grade. The changes which made high school final exams more difficult were that the amount of materials to study was raised in a huge manner. Not only 9th grade students, but also students in other grades struggled with studying such a large stack of materials particularly due to AP courses.
Students’ concerns with the exam arose as it approached them, and this semester’s final exams are not an exception. Already, about five weeks before the exam, CCAS students exchange their worries about the big exams coming up. However, Cornerstone high school students have excelled on the exams regardless of how important and difficult they are. Hence, rather than fearing final exams, it might be a better idea to embrace it with anticipation!
